UPDATE: THURSDAY 9/26/2024 9:20 p.m. (COLORADO SPRINGS) — The intersection of Research Parkway and Union Boulevard has reopened to traffic, according to CSPD. UPDATE: THURSDAY 9/26/2024 8:10 p.m. According to CSPD officers on the scene, the crash at the intersection of Research and Union involved a car and a motorcycle. The motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Courtesy: FOX21 News photojournalist Sean Scott ORIGINAL STORY: Research and Union to be closed for several hours THURSDAY 9/26/2024 7:30 p.m. The Colorado Springs Police Department reported on Thursday, Sept. 26 a major intersection was closed due to a crash, and would remain closed for several hours. CSPD said via X (formerly known as Twitter) that the entire intersection of North Union Boulevard and Research Parkway was closed due to a crash that occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. CSPD said people were injured due to the crash, and anticipates the intersection will not reopen for two to three hours. CSPD asked the community to avoid the area.
