By, Dan Thornton, Muscle Powered Board Member Carson City residents now is your chance to help shape Centennial Park's future. The Centennial Park Master Plan Survey is open, and your input can directly influence improvements and future projects, including the potential for the Carson City Bike Park. As a Muscle Powered board member and the founder of Ride Carson City, I’ve already submitted my feedback to ensure our voices are heard, especially in advocating for spaces like the CCBP to support active lifestyles and outdoor recreation. Why Your Input Matters: This survey will determine how Centennial Park evolves to meet the community’s needs. I emphasized the demand for a free community mountain bike park to attract local riders, families, tourists, and, eventually, competitions! The CCBP would provide a safe, organized space for biking enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. Key Benefits of the CCBP: • Outdoor Recreation: Expanding mountain biking facilities will encourage more people to get outside and stay active. • Youth and Family Engagement: The bike park will be a great space for families and young riders to enjoy outdoor activities together. • Economic and Tourism Boost: A dedicated bike park could attract visitors from outside Carson City, supporting local businesses and hosting biking events. Survey Deadline: The Centennial Park Master Plan Survey closes on October 1, 2024. Now is the time to make your voice heard and ensure the future of Centennial Park includes spaces like the CCBP. Here is the survey link: https://arcg.is/0qKCCL0 Let’s work together to ensure Centennial Park continues to serve the needs of Carson City residents, both now and in the future. Take a few minutes today to advocate for outdoor recreation and a park that reflects our community’s active spirit.
