BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office arrested two Walker High School students accused of making a threat of violence towards the school.
The two students, who were identified as a 14-year-old female and a 16-year-old male, were arrested and charged with menacing.
Around 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, the LPSO school resource officer who works at Walker High School was informed about two students who had a conversation about "shooting up" the school, according to LPSO.
LPSO stated deputies learned that the two students did have conversations about harming people on campus during their investigation. Both students said they had "no intention of actually carrying out those acts."

According to LPSO, no weapons were discovered on the two students or school grounds.
"It makes me sad to have to report this. This should not be happening - especially here. Parents, please talk to your children about making threats towards schools. Don’t speak it. Don’t post it. Don’t do it. Period. This is another reminder that we have a zero tolerance policy in place," said Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard.
