AUSTIN (KXAN) — Westwood picked up its first win of the season 28-16 Thursday over Manor in a District 25-6A matchup at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex. The Warriors trailed 14-6 in the second quarter after Manor's Xavier Hill rushed for a 35-yard touchdown, but after that, Westwood kept the Mustangs out of the end zone. Manor quarterback Camden Huff threw a deep pass down the middle of the field into coverage, and Warriors' defensive back sealed the victory with an interception. Westwood (1-4, 1-0) took a 21-14 lead on this 2-yard run by Xavion Sutton and the following 2-point conversion in the third quarter. Westwood wide receiver Drew Norrell hauled in a 20-yard pass from Cooper Waits for a touchdown late in the second quarter, and then he ran for a 6-yard score in the third quarter to give the Warriors a 2-score lead. Manor (1-3, 1-1) takes on Round Rock next week while Westwood plays Hutto. More highlights
