PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) - The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning early Thursday morning in parts of Prince George's County. Though short-lived, due to being canceled after improving weather, the county is still being cautious after a wet week in the DMV. The Department of Public Works and Transportation said they'll monitor weather reports and act accordingly as Hurricane Helene continues to strengthen. Residents in the county are also preparing themselves. Coastal flood advisory issued for parts of DMV "At the end of the day, we don't have any control over things We just try to be as prepared as we can," said resident Roy Betts. Betts said he's confident that the rain won't be too much of an issue, but also hopes people are safe during the weather event. "If we are having episodes of flooding, I hope that people remain safe. I think that's pretty much the primary focus. Their property can be replaced, but human life? Not so much," he said.
