Teen charged in fatal Brighton crash to remain in youth court

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The case against one of the brothers charged in a stolen car crash which killed a 92-year-old Brighton man will remain in family court.
Theodice and Theophilus Parks were arrested August 22, when a police chase involving two stolen cars ended in a fatal crash at East Avenue and Elmwood Avenue. The victim, Thomas Chase, was remembered for his generosity as a pianist.
Theodice Parks, 17, was indicted on charges of second degree murder, aggravated vehicular homicide, second degree manslaughter, first degree assault, two counts of second degree assault, aggravated vehicular assault, first degree reckless endangerment, third degree criminal possession of stolen property, and driving while ability impaired by drugs. He will be tried in family court.
Theophilus Parks, 19, was indicted on charges of first degree assault and third degree criminal possession of stolen property.
A third person, Trevan Simmons, 19, was also arrested. He pleaded not guilty.
All three are scheduled to return to court on November 14.
