VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - There is one less café in Visalia after a franchise location confirmed on Thursday that it has closed its location in the city. The latest closure is the Corner Bakery Cafe, which was located at 4021 S. Mooney Boulevard. The company announced the closure in a statement to YourCentralValley.com. The Corner Bakery Cafe's Melanie Barichivich confirmed that the location has closed down, revealing that demand for the Visalia location had slowed down, making it difficult for that location to continue operating. When searching for the restaurant online, the site still appears to be open. Barichivich says the company does not expect other closures within the market. According to Corner Bakery's website, the cafe and bakery started on a corner in Downtown Chicago and began creating artisan breads and freshly baked sweets. In the Central Valley, only the location on Friant Road in Fresno remains open.
