Denver breaks 14year daily high temperature record

Temperatures hit 91 degrees at Denver International Airport on Thursday, setting a new daily record high, according to the National Weather Service.
The previous record high for Sept. 26 was 90 degrees, set in 1892 and matched in 2010. Pueblo tied its record high for the day with temperatures reaching 96 degrees shortly after 2:20 p.m. That city’s record was set in 2020.
Colorado Springs also tied its daily record, also set in 2020, with a Thursday afternoon temperature of 89 degrees.

The day is still young, and Denver temperatures could continue to increase and further break the heat threshold. The National Weather Service said on X that temperatures could reach 92 or 93 degrees Thursday.
Denver temperatures are expected to ease down to 60 degrees Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service. But temperatures are forecast to linger in the high 80s or low 90s throughout the weekend.
