OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) -- After 57 years of Major League Baseball, the Oakland A's will play their last game at the Oakland Coliseum on Thursday afternoon. They will take on the Texas Rangers at 12:37 p.m. The A's are headed to Sacramento next season, and they plan to eventually go to Las Vegas. A's fans have been preparing for the final game at the Coliseum since it was announced that 2024 would be the team's last game at their longtime ballpark. The A's will finish their season in Seattle on Sunday. The A's have played at the Coliseum since they moved to Oakland from Kansas City in 1968. The team has won four titles in that timeframe -- only the New York Yankees have more. The Coliseum has been home to moments that have gone down in MLB history books. Featuring large swaths of foul territory, it is one of the more unique ballparks in the league. More than 30,000 people were in the ballpark for Tuesday night's game, in which the A's walked the Rangers off. More than 35,000 saw the Rangers win on Wednesday. The game is sold out, but tickets remain available on the secondary marketplace. The crowd is expected to be raucous, and Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said he had security guards talk to his team. Video on social media appeared to show A's fans rip Coliseum seats out of the ground on Tuesday. KRON4 will be sending multiple crews to the Coliseum to cover the final game throughout Thursday.
