HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- With Virginia Lottery, it's not only the people who buy the winning tickets who are the lucky ones, the stores that sell the winning tickets are too.
Recently, a 7-Eleven located at 3101 Lauderdale Drive in Henrico County sold a 500X the Money ticket and the customer discovered she had won the $7 million top prize. But Nathalia Pinheiro wasn't the only winner, the store also received a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
On Sept. 26, the Executive Director of Virginia Lottery Khalid R. Jones stopped by the store to present a large check to the franchisee, Mehedul "Rony" Islam.

“This check is proof that partnering with the Virginia Lottery makes good business sense for a retailer,” said Mr. Jones. “Last fiscal year, businesses in the Commonwealth that sell Lottery tickets earned more than $141.5 million in commissions and bonuses, which is a record amount.”
The 500X the Money game is one of a few dozen scratch-off tickets offered by the Virginia Lottery with a range of prizes from $50 to $7 million.
According to Virginia Lottery, this is the first top prize that has been claimed in the game -- leaving two more unclaimed. The likelihood of winning the top prize is 1 in 2,611,200 and the chances of winning any prize in this game is 1 in 3.39.
Pinheiro had the choice between taking the full $7 million cash prize for over 30 years or the option of a one-time cash prize of $4 million after taxes. She selected the cash option.
