Retired Hammond Police Department K9 officer dies

HAMMOND, La. (WGNO) — Officers with the Hammond Police Department have announced that a retired K-9 officer has died.
According to the HPD, K-9 Officer Roko served the Hammond community with loyalty and made an impact on everyone who met him.

HPD officials reported Roko died at the age of 10 on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

"Please keep Sergeant Kris Schilling and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time as they mourn the loss of their faithful partner and friend. Rest in peace, Roko. You will be deeply missed," a social media post from the HPD reads.
