At 5:45 PM, powerful Hurricane Helene was within one hour of making landfall in Florida. Helene is a dangerous Category 4 storm with wind gusts to 155 mph. Flooding is likely in several major cities, including Atlanta. Our forecast below is the exact opposite. TONIGHT:   The skies will be clear, and the winds will be light and variable.  The low will drop to 64.  FORECAST:  Friday will be sunny and hot with a high of 98 as high pressure reaches its maximum.  The SE winds will range from 10-20 mph with stronger gusts on the west slopes by early evening.  Saturday will be sunny and slightly cooler with a high of 94.  The east winds will range from 10-25 mph, causing stronger gusts on the west slopes of the mountains.  Sunday will be sunny and breezy with a high of 92. Monday will be sunny with light winds and a high of 94.  On Tuesday, a cool front blows in and drops the high to 87.  The east winds will gust to near 30 mph with stronger gusts on the west slopes.  Wednesday will be sunny and 90.
