SISD math teacher faces child sex abuse charges

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A Clarke Middle School math teacher has recently been arrested twice on several charges involving children, according to El Paso County Jail Records and the Clarke Middle School staff directory web page.
According to El Paso County Jail Records, LLojan Almaraz was arrested by Socorro Independent School District (ISD) Police on Friday, Sept. 13, and charged with improper relationship between an educator and student, child grooming, indecency with a child, and sexual performance of a child. He posted bond the following day on Saturday, Sept. 14.
Almaraz was then arrested again the following week on Friday, Sept. 20, by Socorro Independent School District Police, and charged with two counts of online solicitation of a minor. He posted bond that same day.
According to Clarke Middle School's website, Almaraz is listed as a math teacher.
We reached out to SISD regarding Almaraz's employment at the school to which they provided the following statement.
"This request is regarding an ongoing investigation. The individual is currently on administrative leave while the investigation proceeds. We are unable to release any information at this time," SISD said.
