Mandatory Evacuations Underway In Taylorsville Due To Flooding

TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. — Mandatory evacuations are underway in Taylorsville due to flooding from Hurricane Helene.
The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office is going door to door at Fred Jolly Lane and River Shoals Ridge letting residents know there is a mandatory evacuation underway.
The Catawba River is threatening to flood their homes.
The evacuees will be sheltering at Wittenburg Volunteer Fire Department. No injuries have been reported. WCCB’s James Scott will have more details on WCCB News @ TEN.
