School Closures And Cancellations Due To Hurricane Helene For September 27th

Nearby school systems are closing and sporting events are being rescheduled in preparation for Hurricane Helene heading towards the area.
The storm is expected to bring significant wind, heavy rain and potential flooding. A State of Emergency was issued for both North Carolina and South Carolina.

School Closures
Alexander County Schools will be closed Friday, September 27th
Ashe County Schools will be closed Friday, September 27th
Avery County School Systems will be closed Friday, September 27th
Burke County Public Schools will have eLearning on Friday, September 27th
Cabarrus County School will be closed Friday, September 27th
Caldwell County will be closed on Friday, September 27th
Catawba County Schools will be closed Friday, September 27th
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will have remote learning on Friday, September 27th
Chester County Schools will have remote learning on Friday, September 27th
Chesterfield County Schools will move to remote learning, Friday, September 27th
Clover School District will move to remote learning on Friday, September 27th
Fort Mill School District will be closed on Friday, September 27th
Gaston County Schools will move to remote learning on Friday, September 27th
McDowell County Schools will be closed Friday, September 27th
Hickory Schools will be closed for K-8 grades and remote learning for 9-12 grades
Rock Hill – York District 3 Schools will have eLearning on Friday, September 27th
Stanly County Schools will move to remote learning on Friday, September 27th
York School District 1 will have eLearning on Friday, September 27th
Union County Schools will be closed on Friday, September 27th
Watauga County Schools will be closed on Friday, September 27th
University Delays And Closures
UNC Charlotte is will move to Condition 1 at 5 p.m. because of deteriorating weather conditions.
All classes that start at 5 p.m. or later are moved to online learning
Central Piedmont Community College will close Thursday, Sept. 26, at 3 p.m. All in-person classes from 3 p.m. onward are canceled. The college will be fully closed Friday, September 27th

Harding at North Meck rescheduled to Wednesday, September 25th
Butler at Providence rescheduled to Saturday, September 28th at 7 p.m.
Cabarrus at Bonnie Cone rescheduled to Thursday, September 26th
Corvian at Christ the King rescheduled to Thursday, September 26th
Palisades at Myers Park rescheduled to Saturday, September 28th at 6 p.m.
Providence Day at North Raleigh rescheduled to Thursday, September 26th
East Lincoln at Statesville rescheduled to Thursday, September 26th
Westside at Weddington rescheduled to Monday, September 30th
Ardrey Kell vs Ballantyne Ridge rescheduled to Saturday, September 28th at 6 p.m.
