CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A pedestrian died at the hospital after being hit by a car just north of Uptown early Wednesday morning.
Around 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to North Davidson Street and Parkwood Avenue in regards to a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive man lying in the street and a Honda Accord with front-end damage.
The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, and died in that afternoon.
The preliminary investigation found that the Honda vehicle had a green light to enter the intersection. The pedestrian was crossing North Davidson Street when he was struck by the Honda, police said.
The Honda driver was not impaired. The pedestrian’s identity has not been released at this time.
The crash is still under investigation.
