Codefendant in Mojave quadruple homicide arraigned

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man accused of being an accessory to a quadruple homicide in Mojave was formally arraigned Thursday.
Jonathan Hernandez appeared via Zoom, lying in a hospital bed. Prior hearings were postponed due to him being medically unavailable. More details as to his condition were not released.
He's charged with being an accessory after the fact, and also faces other felony counts including attempted murder and carjacking.
Not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf and a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 7.

It's alleged co-defendant Ricardo Reyes-Partida fatally shot four people inside a trailer on the night of April 30, 2023.
Witnesses -- including Hernandez -- told investigators the shooting occurred over a missing phone Reyes-Partida believed one of the victims had, according to court filings.
Killed were Darius Travon Canada, 31, Anna Marie Hester, 34, Martina Barraza, 33, all of Mojave, and Faith Leighanne Rose Asbry, 20, of California City.
