ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — An injured bald eagle was rescued along the thruway in Genesee County.
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation police officers were called to LeRoy on August 28 for reports of the injured eagle. According to the DEC, the state trooper who found the eagle distracted it while a DEC officer covered it with a blanket.
The two worked together to secure the eagle's talons, then put it into a pet carrier and took it to the Messinger Woods Wildlife Care and Education Center in Erie County for treatment.
