The suspect in a fatal hostage situation and shootout earlier this month at Broomfield’s Arista Flats apartment complex has been charged with more than 20 felonies, including first-degree murder. Gregory Miles, 34, was charged with one count of first-degree murder, four counts of attempted first-degree murder, 18 counts of attempted first-degree murder of a peace officer and a violent crime sentence enhancer, according to the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Miles is accused of holding hostage and killing Aisha Quest — a woman with whom he lived at Arista Flats — during the Sept. 12 standoff at the complex, DA officials said Thursday. Officials still have not specified the nature of their relationship.
