BLAIRSTOWN — Four different players scored a goal and the Pennington School girls soccer team looked the most like itself with a 4-0 victory over Blair on Wednesday that gave it command of the MAPL standings. Kate Irani, Maya Raghanundanan, Nora Close and Hafsa Hussain were all on target for the Red Hawks (4-2) as they won their third in a row and improved to 3-0 in the MAPL. Sara Chrnelich, Irani, Meg Balerna and Maia Davis picked up assists. Co-Coach Pat Murphy lauded Chrnelich for her work all over the field. “She is playing all over the field for us,” Murphy said. “Blair is a decent team with some talented kids. A real nice and fast center forward and Sara took care of that kid effectively. She also made a great defensive block on a play that both teams surely thought would end up in our net. She willed her way late in the game to get across the 6 box to snuff out the shot. It was awesome.” Holy Cross 3, Allentown 2 DELRAN — Ava DeFulvio had all three goals for the Lancers (7-2) as they edged the Redbirds (4-2-1) in a non-conference matchup. Martha Olorunnisola and Sierra Tesar scored for Allentown, which has gone three in a row without a win since a 4-0 start.
