RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A man was found lying dead in the front yard of a building in Richmond's Southside Thursday morning, according to police. According to the Richmond Police Department, at 7:12 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, officers were called to the 200 block of Richmond Highway for the report of a person down. When officers arrived, they found a man lying unresponsive in the front yard of a "structure," police said. Officials said he had a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death, according to police. Anyone with information about this shooting death is asked to call Major Crimes Detective P.
