PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Providence man has been sentenced to the Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI) for the murder of his estranged wife. Bosco Tukamuhabwa, 53, was sentenced to 45 years at the ACI in Providence Superior Court following an 11-day trial that culminated with a guilty verdict on June 4. Tukamuhabwa was found guilty of one count of domestic second-degree murder and one count of domestic criminal violation of a No Contact Order. On November 9, 2017, Maniriho Nkinamubanzi’s children reported her missing to Providence police, and the following day they found her body in a bedroom closet. Police responded to the scene and found signs of blunt force trauma and stab wounds to Nkinamubanzi’s body and blood spatter on a wall. Police conducted a forensic analysis of Tukamuhabwa’s phone which placed in him in the vicinity of the victim’s home at the time of the murder. Additionally, DNA from the defendant and the victim was found on 19 items at the crime scene and defendant’s residence. “The Providence Police Department works tirelessly to bring to justice those who commit senseless acts of violence such as this one,” said Providence Police Colonel Oscar L. Perez, Jr. “I am thankful for the hard work of our detectives, as well as the Attorney General’s Office, throughout the investigation and prosecution of this case.” Categories: News, Rhode Island
