Loranger student accused of having gun on school property

LORANGER, La. (WGNO) — A Loranger student was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 26, after allegedly bringing a gun on a school campus.
Fatal officer involved shooting under investigation in St. Charles Parish
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office reported that deputies responded to Loranger High School around 8:30 a.m. after receiving a tip that a student may have had a gun in his car.
TPSO officials said the school's resource officers and additional deputies then placed the school and two nearby schools on lockdown while they conducted an investigation.

According to deputies, a gun was allegedly found in the trunk of 17-year-old Denim Lusk's vehicle.
Lusk was then arrested and now faces charges of possession of a firearm on school property and illegal disruption of the operation of a school.
All schools were taken off lockdown around 10 a.m.
