GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) have announced that the work on WIS 54/57 has been completed both on time and on budget. According to a release, The $7.6 million project began in May and all of the construction was done on a 4.4-mile stretch of WIS 54 between University Way and WIS 57 in Green Bay. Officials say the project involved resurfacing the mainline of WIS 54/57, resurfacing the ramps for University Avenue and Nicolet Drive, resurfacing the mainline of University Avenue and Nicolet Drive, and concrete repair on the ramps of Bay Settlement Road. Wisconsin Department of Transportation officials opens discussion on future of Mason Street Bridge in Green Bay Other work done with this project is said to include improvements to curb ramps, beamguards, culvert end walls, sand barrel arrays, pavement markings, shoulder rumble strips, and shoulder aggregate. Once again, this project was completed both on time and on budget and will now reduce the roughness of the roadway giving drivers a smoother surface to drive on while also extending the road's service life, decreasing future maintenance costs, and creating a safer driving environment.
