CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Due to a tropical storm warning forecast for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area, there will be no ASEP, after-school activities or district events, including athletics, club meetings and tutoring at any Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools on Thursday, Sept. 26. Athletic events will be rescheduled. With continued high winds and heavy rain predicted for Friday, Sept. 27, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will move to remote learning for that day. This remote learning will be completed asynchronously (no face-to-face instruction). All asynchronous assignments for the day will be posted on the teacher’s Canvas page by 7 a.m. Friday, emailed out via ParentSquare by 7 a.m. Friday, and/or provided to the students via paper on Thursday. To ensure all students have the resources they need, teachers will review with students on Thursday how to access the assignments for Friday.  If you have any questions about your student’s assignments, please contact your student’s teacher(s). In addition, there will be no after-school activities including athletics, club meetings and tutoring at any Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools on Friday, September 27.  Athletic events will be rescheduled. After the storm, buildings will be assessed. CMS Schools will resume normal operations on Monday, September 30. As always, the safety and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority.
