One person is dead and another was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a dump truck late Wednesday night. The crash happened at 11:17 p.m. Wednesday night around 4010 West 8th Street in West Price Hill. Cincinnati police said an 18-year-old man was driving a 2016 Chevy Equinox west on 8th Street when he crashed into an unoccupied dump truck parked in the curb lane. The 18-year-old was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries, but officers on scene of the crash said they didn't believe those injuries were life-threatening. The 18-year-old's passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Police are investigating whether impairment or excessive speed played a part in the crash. Police at the scene of the crash initially told us one of the drivers involved in the crash fled the scene; CPD's most recent press release clarifies the dump truck was unoccupied and there was not a second driver involved.Officials have not released the identity of the person killed in the crash.
