This morning will bring mostly clear skies and a bright sunrise for the rush hour. Temperatures have cooled in the overnight under light winds, so a light jacket may be needed to start your day, with a touch of fog northeast of downtown. This afternoon will bring an increase in clouds, while temperatures warm into the upper 70s statewide. Eventually clouds will thicken up and a few showers will begin to dot the area by early evening. Overall, a great day and the best of the week. Tonight rain begins to increase in coverage, especially in the overnight and into Friday. Along with the rain chances overspreading the area...winds will become breezy from the northeast at 10-20 mph. Friday will be a busy day weather-wise here locally, with areas of rain falling and winds strengthening throughout the day and into the evening. Rain could fall in sheets off and on, as winds could gusts between 50-55 mph. This will create issues for traveling, debris blowing onto roads and sporadic power outages/older trees toppled. High school football games could be canceled due to the weather conditions in parts of the state. Be sure to check in often tomorrow with the evolving changes and radar updates. The weekend will bring off and on showers for both Saturday and Sunday with limited sunshine at times. Winds will remain breezy on Saturday but weaken on Sunday as "Helene" slowly dissipates. Another Sunday with the roof closed for the Colts game.
