INDIANAPOLIS – No one was hurt after fire broke out at a home on the east side.
Indianapolis Fire Department crews were dispatched to North Sheridan Avenue around 2 a.m. Thursday, where they encountered fire and heavy smoke coming from the back and right side of a residence.
Crews were able to get the fire under control. IFD said the homeowner was not at home when it started.

IFD also said “hoarder conditions” inside the residence posed some challenges during their effort to extinguish the flames.
The cause remains under investigation.
