COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) - From illuminating festivals and fall activities, to the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena, here are things to see and do this weekend in central Ohio. Columbus Zoo Lantern Festival Columbus Zoo and Aquarium: now through Sept. 29 It's your last weekend to check out the lantern festival, featuring more than 70 sets of Asian lanterns highlighting wildlife scenes from around the world. (Photo Courtesy/Amanda Carberry, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium) The Big Bounce America 2024 Tour Eldorado Gaming Scioto Downs, Sept. 27-29 The World's Largest Bounce House experience is coming to Columbus. The touring inflatable event will feature seven massive inflatable attractions with sessions for all ages to enjoy. Harvest Blooms Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Sept. 28 - Nov. 3 Check out thousands of pumpkins, mums and more while experiencing the magic of the fall season at the Conservatory. (Photo by FREDERIC J. BROWN/AFP via Getty Images) 2024 Cops and Cookies 5K Genoa Park, Sept. 28 starting at 7:30 a.m. Join the Columbus Division of Police Honor Guard for their Annual 5K Run. Along with the run, participants can meet with the SWAT team, Mounted Unit, K9 unit, Therapy dogs and more. A Kid Fun Run begins at 9 a.m., followed by the 5K at 9:20 a.m. There will also be a variety of cookies at the finish line. Furniture Bank's Bed Race 4960 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. The annual event will feature five teams racing on twin beds on wheels down a 50 yard track. The race aims to raise $75,000 this year to help furnish 300 homes for those in need. Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Buffalo Sabres Nationwide Arena, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. The Blue Jackets take on the Buffalo Sabres for a preseason matchup at 7 p.m. Ohio Renaissance Festival Renaissance Park – 10542 State Route 73, Waynesville: now through Oct. 27This 16th-century village comes to life with live entertainment, food, shops and more.  2024 county fairs in central Ohio Through October, central Ohio is home to several county fairs with rides, games, live entertainment and of course, food.
