FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - An event to raise awareness about hate incidents and crimes is going to be hosted in Fresno by the Stop the Hate initiative at the Fresno Center and the Fresno Interdenominational Refugee Ministries. The event, United Against Hate Block Party, is expected to bring a vibrant hub of cultural festivities, engaging activities and powerful conversations aimed at fostering inclusivity and combating hate, organizers say. Organizers add the family-friendly event will feature a Unity Walk, live music and performances, food trucks and vendors, interactive activities and resource booths. The event also aims to provide a safe space to stand in solidarity with United Against Hate and bring awareness to the Stop the Hate initiative. “The Fresno Center supports healthy conversations amongst community residents and leaders that lead to resolution of issues of bullying, hate, and other disturbing matters that affect the well-being of our community,” said Pao Yang, president and CEO of The Fresno Center. The event will be held on Sept. 26 at the Fresno Center, Adult Healthcare Center/Parking Lot at 4855 E. Cesar Chavez Blv., in Fresno from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.
