MERCED, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Several guns were seized following a threat to a school in Merced on Thursday, according to the Merced Police Department.
Officers say they were made aware on Thursday of a possible threat, made on the social media platform TikTok, regarding Farmdale Elementary School.
According to police, they received the report after the school had already been dismissed for the day. Officers were able to locate a juvenile who was "playing" on the social media account and made the post. However, they say it was concluded through their investigation that the juvenile did not appear to have any intent to carry any threat toward the school.
However, detectives add several firearms were located at the home of the juvenile during the investigation. Those firearms were then seized for sake keeping.
The Merced Police Department says they were in contact with Farmdale Elementary School throughout the investigation.
