FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The section of a Fresno street is scheduled to close until mid-October for the Big Fresno Fair, city officials announced on Monday.
Beginning Thursday, officials say Butler Avenue between Chance and Maple avenues will close due to preparations for horse racing at the Big Fresno Fair.

This year, there will be 14 days of live horse racing. According to officials, this is the first time it has happened, and this year's races are double the number of race dates held in 2023.
City officials say this will be a hard closure, and drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route during the fair time until Oct. 14.
