(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — Wednesday, Sept. 25 marks two years since skeletal remains were found in a field near Avondale, and investigators are still trying to identify the body. According to the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office (PCSO), DNA testing has been done on the remains, but the man's identity is still unknown. PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Help identify man whose remains were found in Pueblo County PCSO released facial reconstruction photos in 2023 in the hopes that someone would recognize the man, who PCSO believes was a white man between the ages of 30-50 years old at the time of his death. In addition, PCSO said investigators are also working with the Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI) and the Pueblo County Coroner to conduct Forensic Genetic Genealogy to help identify possible family members. The genetic genealogy testing can take time, PCSO said, so its agency is still hoping someone in the community recognizes the man in the facial reconstruction. Courtesy: Pueblo County Sheriff's Office The man's hairstyle, facial hair, eye color, and hair color are unknown, which is why the reconstruction shows alternate styles of what he possibly looked like. He may have also had tattoos and/or piercings, PCSO said. Anyone who thinks they recognize this man is urged to contact Detective Vanessa Simpson at (719) 583-6436.
