(PUEBLO, Colo.) — Students at CSU Pueblo got to explore career opportunities within cybersecurity during a cybersecurity career summit on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Top leaders from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) talked to students and faculty about what it's like working in the cyber security field and what it has to offer. With a focus on career connections and societal impacts, the summit offered students the chance to speak with members during the recruitment fair, and then later dive deep into the fields they are interested in during the breakout sessions. For some students, simply seeing others achieving success in the cybersecurity field can make all the difference. "For me, it's huge. I grew up not seeing people that look like me doing what we do, or seeing opportunities for people that look like me, doing what the students are doing now," said Denyzio Laboy with CSU Pueblo. "So it's very personal. And I like the fact that I'm in a position to try to give back and support and teach and educate some of the younger generation." The next career fair at CSU Pueblo will be on Wednesday, Oct. 9 for students to learn more about internships and other career paths.
