MINOT, ND (KXNET) — People walking the North Dakota State Fairgrounds are getting a chance to see and experience some of the different traditions of the Scandinavian Culture. In each hall at the Norsk Høstfest in the state fair center in Minot, there is a different experience, such as getting to eat different Norwegian foods in the Scandi Kitchen. There are even some fun and educational activities for kids that are visiting the Høstfest. They have STEAM activities just for them in the family fjord. Phil Holtan’s invention inspired by kransekake cake Vendors, authors, and artisans are in the hall, displaying their goods and talents. This includes some wood and bowl turners. "I'm inspired by the bowls that I see in museums in Norway and at the museums down in Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum in Decorah, Iowa, so I am inspired by the Scandinavian Ale bowls," said David Susan, a bowl turner. There is a lot to see and enjoy at the Norsk Høstfest, and you have until Saturday to get out to the state fairgrounds in Minot to experience Scandinavian culture. Close Thanks for signing up!
