SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- As summer heat continues in KELOLAND, we take a look at the pattern. Until we get any changes, what you see is what you get as warm and dry conditions should be expected for the next several days. This is the time of year when highs are in the low 70s, but we've been well above average and very dry. Here's the reason behind our warm and dry weather.A tropical system will go through Florida over the next couple of days. At the same time, there's another low pressure system across the extreme northeast United States. Both of these systems will bring a lot of moisture to the eastern U.S. Tucker Kraft displays flag of SD tribe on helmet High pressure will remain anchored to our southwest, it will help keep the warm and dry days around not only in KELOLAND, but through the western and southwest part of the country. Finally, the jet stream will stay well to our north. This is why systems will be slow to leave the eastern United States as they are cutoff from the steering currents of the jet.Until we see greater evidence of things changing, be prepared for warm and dry days ahead.
